cuff cont.

61 hours into the camica, 3 motifs to go and the cuffs will be ready to attach to the sleeves. that is 61 hours of hand sewing and my hands are beginning to protest. still quite a bit more to sew before I can call this item done, sigh

It's official, I have inherited my mothers and grandmothers arthritis and my long hand sewing marathons are aggravating the condition.......... oh joy!

Almost 55 hours

spent in total on the Camicia. the first cuff is almost finished and then I must attach it. While I may be going at a much slower pace then last year I am thrilled at the quality of work I am producing.

sneak peek

Since I posted a sneak peek on facebook earlier I figure I better share it here as well, I broke down and decided to do some embroidery on the cuffs of my camicia, it is a scroll pattern with half of a compass rose and half of a pomegranate two elements from my device and I am doing a lot of nods to my heraldry in this dress this year. It is done with black silk thread using a reverse chain stitch.

as a side note of trivia I am trying to keep a record of how long I  have spent on each project- so far I have spent  49hours and 11min. on the camicia including: cutting, finishing the edges, fagoting the pieces together, sketching the embroidery and doing the embroidery

Camicia

31 hours now into sewing the camicia, the fagoting stitch is slow going, but I am getting faster. the seams for the sleeves and the body are done. I now need to attach the sleeves to the body and make the cuffs and neckline. most likely won't be able to do much more sewing today

parasol

well plans changed I couldn't handle the fine hand work today so no needlebook or chemise progress but I was able to do some painting on my parasol. It's similar to the one I did last year that sadly my son had a little to much fun with so it needs to be replaced. I hope for some pics tomorrow

35 hours

3
5 hours and the pomegranate is finished, so the ebroidery on the needle book is done, here is hoping to finish it and doing some work on the chemise/camica tonight

Piles of silk

the pieces for the camica have been all cut and hemmed! Started to piece them together with a fagoting stitch, not sure if I am 100% in love with it but who knows it might grow on me.
